While out walking I discovered this striking piece of wood lying at the base of an old dead tree. Thus, began the imagination to make this wall sculpture. What better bird to be peering out than the delightful wren. I sculpted the bird of paper mache and natural elements. The beak is a stone I found in the nearby mountains. The tail is a scrap of sagewood I found while out walking. I used ecological natural papers for the final layer of bird sculpture and painted the maple leaves and maple seeds to adorn this sweet bird. The entire sculpture is protected with an artist's matte varnish. 12" tall, 6.5" wide, 5" deep
