This bird sculpture rests comfortably on a lovely scrap of wood I found out walking in the sagebrush. I sculpted the bird of paper mache and natural elements. The beak is a stone I found in the nearby mountains. The tail is a scrap of sagewood I found while out walking. I used ecological natural papers for the final layer of bird sculpture and painted the sweet globe mallow flowers to adorn this sweet bird. The globe mallow flowers are a delightful wildflower here in the Eastern Sierra. They stand with their multiple stalks of graceful, delicate orange flowers. Always a welcome sight. The entire sculpture is protected with an artist's matte varnish.
