This proud fellow is sculpted by me using natural elements, and paper mache. Sometimes out on my walks I come across the perfect delightful scrap of sagewood to make a rooster tail. The tail and comb are fun pieces of sage wood found while out walking. The legs are wire-wrapped dried grapevine twigs from my own yard. I use natural art papers for the final layer of paper mache. To truly celebrate this king of the farmyard I printed and painted my own drawings of chicken wire and vegetables onto the final paper layer. The rooster is mounted on a nice scrap piece of old wood I found while out walking in the sagebrush. The beak is a stone found in the mountains near my home. Glass bead eyes gaze gently. I gave the entire sculpture a protective coating of artist matte varnish.
