This bird honors the beauty of the wonderful manzanita bushes with their red bark. This bird is lovingly sculpted from paper mache and natural elements. The tail is a lovely scrap of old dried sage-wood. The beak is a stone found in the mountains near my home. The legs are twigs I gathered on a walk. I wrapped them in wire and sculpted the sturdy feet. The final decorative layer is tea-stained teabag papers, which I then adorned with remnants of manzanita bark adding a rich beauty.  Glass bead eyes gaze gently. I gave the entire sculpture a protective coating of artist matte varnish. 7.5" tall, 9.5" long
