This lovely little flying bird pays homage to the wonderful bluegrass song written by Hazel Dickens. This bird sculpture is adorned with the first and last verse of that great song.  I lovingly made this sculpture from paper mache. The final layer is painted recycled tea bags that I wrote the verses on. The beak is a stone I found in nearby mountains. The wings and tail are lovely pieces of dried sage wood found while out walking. All is protected with a coating of artist matte varnish. 5" wingspan, 8" long
