The brilliant Columbine wildflower. "Among the lush banks of the wild alpine streams the fiery columbine grows. A brilliance as if infused by the sun. The delicate columbine." These are my words I wrote meandering along this pleasant bird like a lazy summer afternoon in the mountains. I sculpted the bird of paper mache. The beak is a stone found in the mountains near my home. The legs are twigs I gathered on a walk. I wrapped them in wire and sculpted the sturdy feet. The final decorative layer is a lovely ecological plant fiber paper. I then painted the columbine flowers, leaves, and words to adorn this friendly bird. Glass bead eyes gaze gently. I gave the entire sculpture a protective coating of artist matte varnish. 6.5" tall, 9" long
