This bird shows off the beautiful intricate structure of a leaf. These are leaf skeletons I found while out walking. What a lovely remnant of past summer life, left behind after the winter transformed them to leaf skeletons. This bird is lovingly sculpted from paper mache and natural elements. The tail is a lovely scrap of old dried sage-wood. The beak is a stone found in the mountains near my home. The legs are twigs I gathered on a walk. I wrapped them in wire and sculpted the sturdy feet. The final decorative layer is ecological natural papers, which I then adorned with the leaf skeletons.  Glass bead eyes gaze gently. I gave the entire sculpture a protective coating of artist matte varnish. 7" tall, 8" long
