A gentle bird sculpted of natural elements, and paper mache. On my walks near my home I am inspired by my surroundings; the large cottonwoods lining the creek, the sagebrush, the mountains rising up. I collected up fallen scraps from the cottonwood trees to make the wings and tail. The legs are from the grapevines in my own yard and wrapped in black steel wire. The beak is a slate rock collected on a walk in the hills near me. The environmentally friendly natural art papers for the final layer of paper mache complement the natural wood and stone. My paintings of cottonwood leaves adorn this bird gently. This sweet bird is protected with a matte varnish. 8"tall, 10"long.
