This bird is lovingly sculpted from paper mache and natural elements. The beak is a stone found in the mountains near my home. The final decorative layers pay honor to the many hours spent studying and appreciating local plants of the mountains. I used pages from an old field guide as the base layer. I painted some of my favorite wildflowers (mimulus, paintbrush, wyethia, and lupine) on tea stained tea bag remnants for the final layer. I gave the entire sculpture a protective coating of artist matte varnish. 7.5" tall, 7.5" long
